Spring 2007 Recap

This spring has been one of the most successful seasons for our older teams. We had a

  • BU10 Nashoba team go undefeated
  • BU12 MTOC team won the John Smith Memorial Day Tournament at Devens
  • GU14 NCup team finished the season 7-1 and as the second seeded team went on to win the GU14 NCup Tournament beating the top seed Fitchburg in OT at Ayer
  • GU18 MTOC team finished the season undefeated and played in the top bracket at the MTOC playoffs this past weekend at UMass-Amherst.

Congratulations to the players, parents, and coaches.

This past season has seen a large number of new, excited and dedicated parents volunteer to be more involved in running HYSA and be part of the BOD. THIS IS AWESOME!!!! Let's keep this going forward, we need to encourage all of our parents to be involved in their children's program.

Girls U14 Wins the Nashoba Cup Championship

Congratulations

The Hudson Girls U14 NCUP Team defeated Fitchburg to win the 2007 Nashoba Cup Championship!

Our Girls had a great season going 7-1 and were seeded second to the First seed Fitchburg. The top 4 teams of each division of NCUP were invited to the weekend tournament. The teams were put in to two groups. Our girls played 3 games in the hot sun on Saturday with a record of 2-0-1 which got them into the finals on Sunday against Fitchburg. It was a hard fought game and every one of our girls play solid soccer the entire 70 minutes. The girls were victorious in a sudden death overtime goal!

We are very proud of our girls who played their best game of the season. Fitchburg was a very strong team and played hard the entire game. Our girls never let down and showed great skill and determination.

We would like to thank our players and parents who represented HYSA with great pride and class throughout the entire tournament.

*congratulations* BU12 First Division Winners

The HUDSON BU12 MTOC TEAM won the 6v6 BU12 First Division at the John Smith/South Shore Select Memorial Day Weekend Tournament held at the Devens Complex on Sunday May 27th. In a 10 team flight, the Hudson team finish the first round with a record of 2 wins and 1 loss. Their only loss was against Pepperell, who they will play this Tuesday May 29th at Hudson High School on the Front Field at 6:30 in a key Nashoba BU12 MTOC rematch. Earlier in this season these teams played to a 1-1 draw in a match in Pepperell in mid-April.

After the first round in today's tournament the Hudson BU12 's were seeded as the fourth team in the semi-finals. Against the previously undefeated and top seeded SWAC Sports World, a premier club team, Hudson played their best game of the tournament and won 7-3. In the championship game they defeated a second premier club team, the Dracut Dremons 6-2.

The team finish with a record of 4 wins and 1 loss.

I would like to pass on my thanks to all the Hudson parents, players, and coaches who were outstanding in their support and sportsmanship in a highly competitive and at times very vocal flight. Everyone displayed class and represented HYS in an outstanding manner. While the five games over 8+ hours seemed like  a long day,  the end results were awesome. I know you are all very proud of your son's effort and accomplishments today!!

Thanks, Fran Beauregard, Hudson BU12 MTOC Coach

I am proud to announce the GU10C division Champions. The game was a nail bitter, it was tied at the end of regulation, tied at the end of overtime, now we go onto PK's. Hudson Hawks win by 1 in PK's with a volunteer goalie.

Team: Taylor, Tiffany, Mackenzie, Julia, Alexis, Jennifer, Kaitlyn, Gabrielle, Lily, Sophia, and missing from picture Julianna & Kara.

I was so proud to coach these girls. This was the first time that more then half of the team have ever played indoor soccer and there were 2 players where this was their first soccer experience. These girls were fabulous listeners and took direction extremely well. I can't wait to coach then next winter season.
